What fees does each platform charge?

All three platforms have a similar structure: a commission (by product category) + a payment fee, and some also have a per-order fee and add-on programme fees that the shop chooses to join.

Side by side: what you get from a 100 / 500 / 1,000 baht sale

How much do add-on programmes change the numbers?

Selling at 500 bahtFeesPayout
Shopee (no programme)97.37 (19.5%)402.63
Shopee + PRIME140.17 (28.0%)359.83
Lazada (no programme)96.30 (19.3%)403.70

TikTok Shop (with Growth Fee)110.77 (22.2%)389.23
TikTok Shop, self-shipped70.62 (14.1%)429.38

Higher-priced items on TikTok Shop: selling at 3,000 baht, the Growth Fee hits the 199 baht cap instead of being 240.90 baht.

Add-on programmes help with visibility and free shipping, but they eat into profit almost as much as a second commission. Work out clearly whether the extra sales are worth what you pay.

How to set prices that still leave a profit

Fees are calculated on the selling price, not on cost. Adding 20% on top of cost and hoping it covers the fees will always leave you with less profit than you expected. Use this formula instead:

Minimum selling price ≈ (cost + desired profit + per-order fee) ÷ (1 − total fee %)

Example: cost 250 baht and you want 100 baht profit per item — you need to sell for at least 435 baht on Shopee · 434 baht on Lazada · 450 baht on TikTok Shop (default rates, excluding shipping paid by the shop).

A hypothetical case: selling 1,000 units a month, but losing money

A T-shirt shop has a cost of 180 baht per shirt and sets the price at 299 baht (a 66% markup — sounds like a lot). It offers free shipping, paying 35 baht shipping itself plus 8 baht for packing, and joins PRIME Seller on Shopee to boost sales. This month it sells 1,000 shirts, for sales of 299,000 baht.

  • Total fees (selling fee + transaction + PRIME + per-order fee) = 84.25 baht, or 28.2% of the price
  • Payout from Shopee per shirt = 214.75 baht
  • Minus cost 180, shipping 35, packing 8 → profit per shirt −8.25 baht
  • × 1,000 shirts = a loss of 8,252 baht a month, even though sales look great

The problem isn't that the shirts don't sell — it's that the price never accounted for fees, shipping and packing in the first place. The more it sells, the more it loses. See how much a small change makes a difference:

Costs shops often forget

  • Shipping paid by the shop — free-shipping promotions the shop pays for are a cost on every order
  • Shop discounts and vouchers — they lower the actual selling price. Even though commission is calculated on the price after discount, your profit per item drops too
  • Packing — boxes, tape, bubble wrap, shipping labels
  • In-platform advertising — if you run ads, divide the cost per order as well
  • Returns and refunds — build a percentage into the price

Frequently asked questions

What percentage does Shopee Thailand deduct?+

A typical shop in the lifestyle or FMCG category pays about 19–20% of the selling price (16.05% selling fee, 3.21% transaction fee and 1.07 baht per order). Joining PRIME Seller adds another 8.56%. Figures include VAT, as of Oct 2026.

What percentage does Lazada Thailand deduct?+

About 19.3% for FMCG or household goods (16.05% marketplace fee and 3.21% payment fee). Joining the Premium Package adds another 8.56%. Check the latest rates in Lazada Seller Center.

What percentage does TikTok Shop Thailand deduct?+

It depends on the subcategory. An example commission of 10.70% plus the 3.21% order fee and the 8.03% Commerce Growth Fee (capped at 199 baht per item) comes to about 22% in total. If the shop ships its own orders there's no Growth Fee, bringing it down to about 14%.

Which has the lowest fees: Shopee, Lazada or TikTok Shop?+

At default general-category rates, Shopee and Lazada are close at about 19–20%, while TikTok Shop is about 22% including the Growth Fee — but lowest at about 14% if the shop ships its own orders. It depends on the product category and the programmes you join.

Are fees calculated on the price before or after discounts?+

Commission is calculated on the price after shop discounts, while the payment or transaction fee is calculated on what the buyer actually pays, including shipping.

What is TikTok Shop's Commerce Growth Fee?+

An additional TikTok Shop service fee of 8.03% (6.96% for electronics), capped at 199 baht per item. It isn't charged to shops that ship their own orders, and new shops are exempt for the first 30 days.

How do I set a selling price that's still profitable after fees?+

Use the formula (cost + desired profit + per-order fee) ÷ (1 − total fee percentage). For example, with a cost of 250 and a desired profit of 100, on Shopee you need to sell for at least about 435 baht.

Why am I selling well but losing money?+

Usually because prices were set without accounting for fees, shipping paid by the shop and packing. For example, cost 180, sold at 299 on Shopee with PRIME and free shipping loses about 8 baht per item — the more you sell, the more you lose. Fix it by adjusting the price or choosing add-on programmes that pay off.
